Josh experienced life in five states before settling in Zeeland at the age of 11, finally finding a place that felt like home in West Michigan. A graduate of Zeeland West High School, Josh chose to stay close to his roots and pursued his undergraduate studies at Grand Valley State University, graduating with a degree in Sports Management. After feeling a call to help guide students in living out their faith daily, he decided to change career paths and continued his education at Memphis Theological Seminary.
Following his seminary graduation, Josh served in various roles at churches in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Holland before he began his role as Director of Next Steps at Woodhaven in the summer of 2024.
Josh and his wife, Chelsea, who met at Grand Valley, have been married for eight years. They have a vibrant 4-year-old daughter, Charlie. As a family, they enjoy outdoor adventures—hiking, camping, playing tennis, shooting way over par in golf, and savoring the “delightful” experiments of their 4-year-old aspiring chef. If there are any pickleball players who would like to play a “real sport,” Josh would love to challenge you on the tennis court.
